#Exclusive: Actor/Comedian Brandon Scanavich Talks New Film Project with LHHH’s Lil Fizz & Actor Marc John Jefferies

There’s a new film in the works that’s about to stir up some emotions next year, and it has an amazing cast, so it’s definitely going to be what I love to call a “must see”!

Actor/Comedian Brandon Scanavich will be starring in and producing a new film along beside Love & Hip Hop Hollywood’s cast ‘Lil Fizz’ and Actor Marc John Jefferies who is best known for his roles in movies such as, ‘Losing Isaiah’, ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’ and recently, ‘Nerve’. The film titled, ‘OUT OF BOUNDS’, is about a high school senior basketball player by the name of Travis Elliot (Lil Fizz) who has hopes of one day playing college basketball and making it to the pro’s. However, circumstances reroute his plans, and he is no longer chasing a dream but running from a harsh reality!

The film’s cast includes, Brandon Scanavich, Lil Fizz, Shalonda “SJ” Johnson and Bobby Humphrey Jr

Tanisha D. Davis of Starrdom100 had the pleasure of speaking with Brandon Scanavich about the production of the film. When asked what led to the idea for the film, Scanavich stated,

“The idea came to me during a pickup game while I was at my church gymnasium. We actually turned the ball over and lost the game because a teammate ended up stepping out of bounds. It was just so amazing to me at that moment how you could be so close to victory, and how it could all change by crossing a small line. Same thing with life, you can be so close to the place you desire and one small step in the wrong direction could change your entire life!”

Of course a great movie needs an amazing cast and some amazing producers to capture viewers. We were happy to discover that Actor Marc John Jefferies would be directing the film. Scanavich gave us some insight as to how they came into working together for the film.

“Me and Marc John have been friends for some time now, we’ve worked on a few projects from the acting standpoint and he has taught me so much about dealing with this industry. When I started writing ‘OUT OF BOUNDS’, I’d say about ten pages into the script, I knew I wanted him to direct. I called him up one day while he was out in Miami shooting, and I said “Yo MJJ, I got a script”, and he replied “Let’s Do It” and it was on from there.”

Scanavich added that movie lovers will be able to relate to the film because it makes you really think about your life and the choices we make.

“Choices, Why do we make them? The film teaches you why its so important to make the right ones and how making the bad ones can effect you and the people around you!” – Scanavich

I think we all know from experience that one bad choice can lead to a host of problems.

Scanavich states that this is his first film, and even though he has done several Indie Projects, Short Films and more, none compare to this magnitude of a film!

After teaming up with Starrdom100’s writer and producer Tanisha D. Davis and S.D. Green of TMG Firm in New York, Scanavich landed ‘Lil Fizz’ as the leading star of the film! Many know Fizz from his appearance on multiple seasons of Love & Hip Hop Hollywood and as a member of the R&B group B2K. Fizz has also starred in ‘You Got Served’ (2004) and recently released a new book, ‘No Excuses: Being The Father My Son Deserves’. Scanavich shared with us why he saw Fizz as the perfect match for the role.

“I saw Something in Fizz from the jump, his image, his character and the fact that he is a natural ball player just put the icing on the cake for me, and I couldn’t have had a better person for the job.”

The film, ‘OUT OF BOUNDS’  is scheduled to release the Summer of 2018 and we are looking forward to seeing what Brandon Scanavich and Marc John Jefferies have cooked up for us!

An Unbothered Blac Chyna Breaks Her Silence On Social Media

Blac Chyna seems to be the definition of unbothered. Less than 24 hours since she was trashed by her ex fiancee, Rob Kardashian, Chyna released images of a new look. The 29-year-old posed with new multi colored hair, wearing a form-fitting white ensemble. Check out a few of Chyna’s new looks.  Blac Chyna simply posted images supporting her new brand called, Lashed Cosmetics.

Via TMZ:

Blac Chyna doesn’t want money from Rob Kardashian … she wants distance. Sources close to the warring couple tell us Rob is cutting Chyna off financially. He’ll no longer make payments on her Tarzana rental. He also has the 2 cars he gave her and jewelry as well. We’re told Chyna actually returned the cars and jewelry to Rob. She’s fine paying the rent herself — she’s squirreled away money from various appearances as well as their reality show. She’s also confident she has earning power post-Rob. The big ticket item — supporting Dream. Our sources say Chyna has no intention of going to court for child support, at least for now. We know Rob wants to raise the baby himself, and it doesn’t seem Chyna is putting up much of a fight on that front. Fact is … her other kid, King Cairo, is being raised primarily by Tyga. It’s unlikely in the foreseeable future either one of them will go to court for money or custody. They both have significant issues, and we’re told they don’t want to risk an adverse ruling by a judge.

Whether bothered or not by all the social media drama that escalated from her ex, Chyna is definitely showing a lot of women how to keep focus on your business and ignore the drama no matter the size. Her latest photo shoot comes amidst the famous Kardashian reality star taking to social media accusing her of cheating on him with multiple men, while releasing nude photos of her. Chyna has yet to comment publicly about the controversy.

The world joined in with trying to get Rob Kardashian to calm down and let it ride but of course he was not having that. Celebrities like TI, Snoop and even 50 cent chimed in with posts. Check out their comments below.

TMZ also reported that, Rob Kardashian has crossed the line by posting pics of Blac Chyna’s vagina on social media and the public back and forth between them is causing long-term damage to Dream … this is what the Kardashians are telling friends. We’re told the Kardashians are adamant … ANY public feuding between Rob and Chyna is unacceptable. They are ashamed the war has become a public spectacle and hurting the family name. Even worse than damaging the brand, family members worry Rob and Chyna are hurting 7-month-old Dream. In particular they cringed when Rob posted, “She had a baby out of spite” to get back at Tyga. They say this is the kind of stuff a child will see later and it can cause long-term damage. More immediately … the Kardashians think it’s damaging for Dream to live in homes where the parents are at war. The family still maintains loyalty to Rob and wants to help him, but their main concern is Dream and the impact the war is having on her well-being.

#RECAP ‘Growing Up Hip Hop ATL’ Premiere: Bow Wow’s Return To ATL Stirs Up Major Drama

Things Get Heated Up Fast on The Season Premier of Growing Up Hip Hop ATL!

‘Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta’, premiered on May 25 and Bow Wow caused a stir when he returned home, a place he once left to escape the dangerous drama. However, the real drama unfolded when his enemies showed up to his mix tape party… with guns. I’m still curious to know what went down prior to Bow Wow leaving ATL that has guys heated about him returning to the city.

The first season of GUHHATL had us on the edge of our seat on May 25. We were introduced to the young cast, who all happen to be connected through family, friendships or work.  I will introduce you to all the cast in a few. The premiere was mainly centered on Bow Wow, aka Shad Moss. He’s the only one out of the entire cast that fled the ATL. I’m assuming that could be why people were not so excited about his return.

He claims to have left his hip hop home to escape the messy situations it causes; negative people, drama and dangerous situations. However, now, he’s back. Bow returns to his roots to appear at a party for his mixtape with Soulja Boy.  But, his short stay in the ATL turns into long lectures and conversations with his father-figure and mentor, Jermaine Dupri and his sister-figure and other mentor, Da Brat.

During his visit, Bow goes through the ringer. He tells JD and Brat that he wants to create another album since he hasn’t put out anything since he had his daughter, Shai. He basically wants to create an album of confessions. Although JD and Brat want to work with him, they are hesitant because he lives in LA. So, they gave Bow an ultimatum. Stay in the ATL and make a hit record, or we don’t work with you. But, it was all in love. Brat stated it had been long overdue for Bow Wow to release an album and that him being out in LA away from them, “his family” had kept him distracted. Bow Wow however was unsure because he wants to remain in LA to continue being a full time father for his daughter.

Bow’s weariness about returning to the ATL full time is also due to his life back in LA. He’s admitted that he is not a relationship person. Nonetheless, he’s trying to work things out with his ex, and baby mama, Joie. But, his partying and player ways quickly take over when he touches down in the ATL.

The whole episode leads up to Bow’s mix tape party, where the entire cast is obviously invited and their individual drama unfolds. Bow Wow is celebrating and let’s add that Souljah Boy did not show up at the mix tape party.  So when Bow’s old friends/current enemies show up, things quickly turn bad. He immediately gets his security and makes sure they have their guns on them. Guys are shown walking around with hoodies on throughout his party.  Bow Wow starts making sure that his crew has guns to protect him and themselves and asks for someone to be by the door in case of a shootout.  That’s when the episode ends and I don’t know about you but that left me on the edge of my seat. I’m still trying to see what Bow did to have these former friends showing up with guns.

The season premiere also centers around two best friends, Reginae Carter and Zonnique Pullins. Reginae — the daughter of Lil Wayne — and Zonnique — daughter of T.I. & Tiny — both find themselves entangled in their family’s drama when Wayne and T.I. decide to carry on a fight on social media. Which is a pretty big deal because the family is really close knit.

Long story short, Wayne did an interview where he made some controversial comments about the Black Lives Matter Movement. And, his good friend T.I., who happens to feel very strongly about the BLMM, wasn’t feeling what Wayne had to say.

Side Note: We all remember how that went down so it was interesting seeing it from the other side of the fence.

So, T.I. took to social media to bash him. When their daughters found out, although Reginae bit her tongue, they both agreed to stay out of it for the sake of friendship and family.  However, after a sit down with her mother, Toya Wright, who encourages her to let the beef stay between adults, Reginae can’t contain the urge to protect her father so she snaps back at T.I. on social media. The episode also ends with Zonnique finding out about Reginae’s comments. Things on the show really are heating up in ATL and I’m ready for the next episode!

Sean Kingston Jumped by Migos in Las Vegas! [Video]

Sean Kingston got jumped on Tuesday and everyone who was there to witness the fight, said the  Migos are responsible for the behind whooping! Sean Kingston reportedly found himself in the middle of Soulja Boy’s beef with Migos rapper Quavo. Migos and Kingston both fled the scene before police arrived.

Kingston was apparently pulled over after the incident and was somewhat cooperative with police, though he didn’t reveal any names. The fight seems to have been over comments Kingston made about Quavo back in December. As Complex notes, Kingston posted and later deleted an Instagram video where he claimed Quavo backed out of a fight with Soulja Boy.

“I was right there. Ni**a said pull up, I want to fight one-on-one,” Kingston said in a now-deleted Instagram post. “This shit ain’t have to go to no social media…it was to the point where [Quavo] ain’t show up, it’s like okay, he want to go in. Ni**as was waiting.”

via TMZ:

Law enforcement sources tell us it went down late afternoon at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Vegas. We’re told Kingston and the guys from Migos got into it over an argument involving Soulja Boy and the 3 members of Migos beat Sean badly, allegedly kicking him and stomping on his head.

Law enforcement tells us someone from Sean’s camp pulled out a gun and fired once, but didn’t hit anyone. That person was detained by security and turned over to the Vegas PD.

By the time cops arrived both Sean and Migos had left. A short time later Sean was pulled over for a traffic stop and became “semi-cooperative,” though he did not name names. We’re told police want to speak with Migos, and they were quick to add that members of the group are not “wanted” by cops. This is what happens when Internet beef turns real!

Meanwhile, The Game claimed to have the footage of Kingston getting beat down by Migos, in a since-deleted Instagram post.

Nothing has been publicly mentioned from Kingston or the Migos in relation to the fight at the moment.

GIANTS is a scripted drama digital series starring Bland, along with child star Vanessa Baden Kelly (“Kenan & Kel,” “Rosewood”) and newcomer Sean Samuels. The show follows three Black millennials nearing the end of their 20s. As they approach age 30, each battle their own inner giants as tougher obstacles of adulthood await. The stakes have never been higher. GIANTS takes things a step further than the typical coming of age story by pushing new boundaries of very real issues including mental health, sexual identity, religious skepticism and grave methods of economic survival.

On last night a special screening of IssaRae.com’s GIANTS , was held at Spelman College in partnership with the Spelman College SGA, Eta Kappa chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and PULSE.

‘GIANTS’ Producer’s Issa Rae & Jussie Smollet

Insecure’s Issa Rae and Empire’s Jussie Smollett have teamed up to produce Giants, written and directed by James Bland. It is a six-episode series.

Via Essence:

“Giants takes a deep dive into mental health and sexuality, issues that are still somewhat stigmatized in the black community. The show also explores race, class, police brutality, and much more in a very honest and real way. The show finds a way to delicately balance humor with more intense moments, which is what makes it so relatable and heartfelt. Viewers will see themselves in the characters and laugh along with them as they find moments of light in dark situations.”

“What applies to all of these characters is that they decided not to live life the way they’ve been told, and to find their own path to happiness,” Bland told Colorlines.com.

The new original series, premiered January 25 at 8pm. on Rae’s YouTube channel.
